I’m sorry guys that it took so long. Both Eelke and myself have ?I guess? since graduated and started our respective freelance agencies and got caught up in life proper.
So why now all of a sudden? I got inspired this week by the upcoming last.fm hack day and I got peeved as always by the offering of music videos and the difficulty in watching them. Surely there must be better solutions by now?
Anyway, I spent part of yesterday and today getting everything back into working order. Things have become a lot easier since then, APIs have matured, browsers are more well behaved and we have all the libraries we need.
Brief changelog: I tore out the MSN Search SOAP call in favour of the YouTube GData OpenSearch API which really is a charm and the YouTube embeddable player does pretty much everything we would want it to and it now sports decent script access (check the API).
Tested on both recent Firefox and Webkit. Explorer should do this correctly these days, right? If not, I’ll gladly take your patches for that.
Enjoy.
